To help with our environment, I am going to try to post our spelling/vocab and homework assignments on Google Classroom. Please have your students check it for any information you may need.
This website has versions of the game "War" with cards. It's a great way to find different ways to use a deck of cards. Enjoy and I hope the students will beat their parents in this game. (Smile)
Minimum Days and Common Core Days
If your student needs to get a sack lunch for any minimum days or common core days, please let the student/teacher know by Monday. We need to order the sack lunches ahead of time.

Parents, please note that the homework assignment online is a way to organize the packet that your student received today in class. The homework packet should have a homework template for your student to know what to do.
Also, spelling list is on the website as a file. You will notice there are two lists on it. Ask your child if they are in the regular words or the challenge. On Friday, students will all take a test. Please make sure your student knows which list they are on and which one they are supposed to do their homework activities on. (If they are in challenge, then do the challenge words as the activity words.)
Thank you! Please don’t hesitate to email me with homework as this is the first time they are doing it in my class.
Welcome to Fourth Grade!
Welcome incoming fourth graders!!
I hope you are as excited as I am to start a new school year. There will be a lot of learning about one another this first month and a lot adjusting to one another. I hope you are ready for the task!
Just some things to get you started.
1. You may want to get yourself a nice sturdy binder to bring papers from school to home. It helps papers not get lost (especially unfinished classwork and homework).
2. Right now there are a lot of good school sales, so start looking for things you may want to use later on (folders for homework/papers, glue sticks, your own pair of scissors, thick or thin markers, colored pencils). I do provide you with what you will need, but there is sharing (not the folder).
3. Start memorizing your multiplication table! It's really important that you know the basics (0,1,2,5,10) and move on to the more difficult. We will be working on it all year long!
4. Get ready for a year of learning and work. It's up to YOU to learn the information in class. Parents are not in the classroom so they expect YOU to know what is going on. And yes, they will be asking you questions at dinner time! (So get those ears and eyes ready!)
Lastly, have fun. When we need to work, we need to work. And when it's time to play, we will play. But you need to do the work to have the fun! (Smile)
Here's to a great school year and I can't wait to meet you on Tuesday night!
Thank you and see you soon!
School's out! I hope you all have a fun and safe summer! Take pictures so I can see your adventures.
Remember that you can find out who your teacher is a week earlier than usual. You will get a packet in the mail and you need to fill out your forms before school if you want to know who you have earlier.
Good luck and can't wait to see you come August!!
AR Book List
If you are looking to see if a book your student is reading is an AR test, please go to the following website and type in the title.
Here are pictures from what the students see.
Projects for the class
The new system and the class activation code for book orders online.
These will be updated as students create it.
These are games that I have allowed students to play to help with their math facts/concepts. I change them as the year goes by. If you know of a good site, please let me know and I can add it to our list. Happy Learning!
